Senior Permitting Specialist - San Francisco, Oakland, and/or Petaluma, CA

This position requires a bachelors' degree (graduate degree preferred) and a minimum of 5 years working in biological resources, wetlands, or the regulatory arena with experience in environmental consulting. The right candidate has a strong background and experience in wetlands regulatory permitting, state and federal permitting, and endangered species documentation. Experience preparing applications and documents for the Corps of Engineers, US Fish and Wildlife Services, California Fish and Game, Regional Water Quality Control Board, NOAA Fisheries, and experiences with California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) required. Experience with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) and preparation of Clean Water Act Section 404(b)(1) Alternatives Analysis are also strongly preferred.

Other desired qualifications include strong technical writing skills and critical thinking. You will need to be able to work both independently and as part of a team as you'll be expected to manage medium sized projects and/or permitting tasks within larger projects. You'll work on exciting and challenging projects that range from water/wastewater, commercial and residential development, energy, transportation, land management planning, monitoring, to restoration.
